I took a course in traditional Byzantine Iconography. Iconography is an ancient style of painting religious figures(icons), more often seen in Greece and Russia, within the Orthodox Church(Eastern Rite), but it also overlaps into the Catholic Church(Western/Latin Rite).

This process is gruelling, due to the fact that it is an ancient and detail oriented process. It uses the old way of painting using traditional egg tempera(mixing powdered pigments with egg).
