I've been really working this vintage cartooning style ever since I received all the Fantagraphics books of Floyd Gottfredson's 1930s Mickey Mouse comic strips, and Carl Bark's Donald Duck/Uncle Scrooge comic books. They are so inspiring, if you've never seen their work, do yourself a favor and check them out.

I've been working on this otter character for about a month, redesigning and redesigning. I've also been trying to place this character in some sort of storyline.

This is pretty cool. It does feel a lot like it could be an excerpt from some old forgotten comic. The Gottfredson influence is apparent. I for one would be interested in seeing this developed further.

By the way, here's a color piece I did of Oscar just recently: :thumb351727251:

I printed it as a 3' vinyl banner I display at comic conventions and start some early promotion.

Thank you! I'm currently working on a 24 page preview teaser comic as we speak. Hoping to get it printed by May. After that I want to start scripting a larger story to print as a graphic novel.

I'm glad you can see the Gottfredson influence, his work is truly inspiring for a daily Mickey Mouse adventure comic strip.
